I used to know the high piano part on Phantasy Star II way back when.

The looping of a track is super useful.  I've used it before on really fast parts.  Is there a program called "Solo Explorer"  You can adjust the loops so that you can only hear one note at a time.

I'm probably good for about 100 of those...

For figuring out game music, I just use my 2002 Strat - USA guitar.  All the music is in standard and this is the only guitar that I have in standard tuning.  If the tabs don't have any open strings, then I play the stuff on other guitars.

Video Games / Time for Gaming

It's becoming more difficult to find the time to play games.  When I was younger, I used to play like crazy.  I would sneak outta bed and play all morning until like 6am and then be exhausted all day.  I almost fell asleep in church once but my dad would've kicked my ass.

Tenchu for PS1.
Excellent and original music, coupled with the sound effects of water and fire burning, made it one awesome atmosphere.

I really love the FF Tactics music.

At the time, Ultima Underworld music for the PC was really important in creating the atmosphere of the game.

I could go on for days here!

Games I wish had music, during gameplay, is Thief for PC

Get a recording of the song in .wav or .mp3.

then play the song on winamp or media player.  this way you can pause and playback the song and concentrate on certain passages.

Hey, good job on setting the forum up.  I've been a browser of VGJams for a few years now.  I've sent in some tab in the past when I was a hack but now I can do pretty damn good tabs.  I'll be writing some in for sure.
